Tikehau is a paradise atoll in the Tuamotus archipelago, a 55-minute flight from Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia. An atoll is a type of low-lying coral island in tropical oceans. Atolls consist of a reef or barrier reef and several islets called motu.

Tikehau offers visitors a veritable natural swimming pool, with superb beaches of white and pink sand as far as the eye can see, and a crystal lagoon with a multitude of tropical fish species. The island’s rich marine life promises nature lovers a spectacular spectacle.

With a population of around 500, the island’s inhabitants call it “home to a tranquil world”. The population lives mainly from fishing and copra. Tikehau is one of Polynesia’s most popular atolls for relaxation, a change of scenery, diving, fishing, the discovery of natural Jacuzzis called “Feo”, walks on the motus, visits to the picturesque and colorful village of Tuherahera and the bird island where rare species nest.

You’ll be staying in an individual Polynesian bungalow, with a bedroom for up to 3 people, a bathroom with hot water, and a private terrace overlooking the beach and lagoon. Breakfast and dinner are provided by your host. You’ll enjoy seafood, seasonal tropical fruits and traditional Tahitian recipes, such as the unmissable raw fish in coconut milk.
